Besides benefitting the skin, these herbs have the following functions: Ge Gen (Kudzu Root) is used to relieve headaches, muscle tension and pains, clears heat, reduces fever, and generates fluids. Pu Gong Yin (Dandelion) is often used as an antiviral or antibiotics as it can clear toxic heat, great to treat any abscess. Lu Gen (Reed Rhizome) helps generate fluids to alleviate fevers, dry mouth, dry cough with thick sputum and lung abscesses. It also helps to calm nausea and vomiting. Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle Flower) is one of the most powerful antiviral and antibiotics used for clearing toxic heat to treat any febrile diseases.
It’s winter and the weather is cold in most places. Many of us find the need to turn on the heat to stay warm. This may be a cause of dry skin. Our Skin Detox Tea has a soothing taste with a hint of almond from the Xing Ren (Apricot Kernel), which has been used for centuries for beautifying the skin as it moistens the organ system as a way of detox. We tend to eat more warming foods in the wintertime, which may lead to a build-up of internal heat toxins. They often manifest as blemishes, red bumps, or even toxic boils. The Ge Gen (Kudzu root) and Pu Gong Yin (Dandelion), both gentle in flavors, serve as powerful detox herbs in this formula. Tu Fu Ling (Smooth Greenbrier Rhizome) creates a mellow flavor like barley soup, combined with Jin Yin Hua for a Honeysuckle finish. This potent, yet mild formula will yield glowing skin with regular use.
